Dr. Victoria Umana

DVM

Dr. Umana has always been drawn to caring for animals. Growing up with pets inspired her passion, and during high school she volunteered on the adoption floor at North Shore Animal League. That experience solidified her desire to pursue a career helping animals and allowed her to witness firsthand the pure joy pets bring into people’s lives—something she knew she wanted to be part of. As she continued working in the veterinary field, it became clear she couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

Dr. Umana values client education, believing that informed pet owners are empowered to make the best decisions for their pets’ health. She views veterinary care as a collaborative partnership built on open communication and strives to ensure every client feels a sense of ease and confidence that their pet is in good hands. Understanding that bringing a sick pet to the vet can be stressful, she aims to provide compassionate, attentive care that helps alleviate that worry.

Dr. Umana is Fear Free certified and was inducted into the Phi Zeta National Honor Society for Veterinary Medicine during her fourth year of veterinary school. She is also co-author of a veterinary article published in Veterinary Record Case Reports by John Wiley & Sons Ltd on behalf of the British Veterinary Association: https://doi.org/10.1002/vrc2.70031

At home, Dr. Umana shares her life with Winston, her three-year-old French Bulldog; Oliver, a Netherland Dwarf bunny she adopted during her first year of vet school; and two family dogs—Petie, a ten-year-old French Bulldog, and Brutus, a nine-year-old Maltese/Shih Tzu mix—all of whom bring endless joy to her and her family.
