The Importance of Preventative Care
Internal Medicine
Taking veterinary care beyond the basics is what we do best at Oath Animal Hospital. Part of that mission involves offering a wider range of care than other practices, including pet dermatology, allergy testing, and orthopedic care.
Dermatology
Our staff is trained to treat a variety of disorders that affect the skin, ears, hair, and nails. We are experienced in the treatment of allergies and immunology to address concerns such as allergic induced skin conditions, skin cancer, parasitic infections, chronic ear infections, autoimmune diseases, endocrine disease, and peri-anal furunculosis.
Allergy Testing
Dogs and cats are no different than humans and can experience allergic reactions to substances they breathe, touch, or eat. However, pets react differently and often exhibit symptoms such as scratching, chewing, ear infections, hair loss, hot spots, vomiting and diarrhea. Pay attention to the seasons and be aware of the symptoms.
To test for allergens, we will collect a blood sample which will identify what your pet is reacting to. Many times pets are allergic to more than one substance.
